چکیده

Abstract This paper mainly studies the tension characteristics of cables in Cable-Driven Parallel Mechanisms (CDPMs). The exact catenary model and cable based on Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian description (ALE) are used. First, ALE used to analyze compare at each point a single cable, which proves calculation accuracy model. Then, described by is Mechanisms, end effector enabled do specific helical motion, extracted analyzed, mesh independence elements convergence verified.

A System for Tension Monitoring in Cable-Based Parallel Architectures

In this papercable-based architectures are classified as active (i.e. cable parallel robots) and passive (wirebased measuring systems). For both classes the identification of applied/exerted wrenches is of fundamental importance for the use and feasible operation of the system. A suitable model and low-cost easy operation system for tension monitoring are proposed for experimental validation fo...

Tension Optimization for a Cable-Driven Parallel Robot with Non- Negligible Cable Mass

This paper addresses the cable tension distributions of a cable-driven parallel robot with non-negligible cable mass for large dimension mechanisms. A well-known model which describes the profile of a cable under the action of its own weight allows us to take the cable sags into account. In addition, an approach to computing the cable tensions is presented, in which there are two major steps to...

Cable Tension Control and Analysis of Reel Transparency for 6-DOF Haptic Foot Platform on a Cable-Driven Locomotion Interface

A Cable-Driven Locomotion Interface provides a low inertia haptic interface and is used as a way of enabling the user to walk and interact with virtual surfaces. These surfaces generate Cartesian wrenches which must be optimized for each motorized reel in order to reproduce a haptic sensation in both feet. However, the use of wrench control requires a measure of the cable tensions applied to th...

Dual Space Control of a Deployable Cable Driven Robot: Wave Based Approach

Known for their lower costs and numerous applications, cable robots are an attractive research field in robotic community. However, considering the fact that they require an accurate installation procedure and calibration routine, they have not yet found their true place in real-world applications. This paper aims to propose a new controller strategy that requires no meticulous calibration and ...
